Our Olive Groves

Brooklyn Park Olive Groves commenced in the year 2000 as a Managed Investment Scheme (MIS), being the vehicle to allow public investors the opportunity to invest into rural Australia and an agricultural enterprise.

The 540 hectares now planted with olive trees over four separate titled properties, including Brooklyn Park, Tarbrook, Chums Gully and Bonni Foi, are owned by the investors (or Growers) in the MIS. Not only do the Growers own the olive trees, they also own the irrigation infrastructure, land and water licenses apportioned to their land. This provides further security for the Growers, allowing them to access the income streams from the olive produce and participate in any capital gain that may be attributable to the asset over the period of the MIS.

Management has planted a mixture of both table fruit and oil fruit varieties across the 540 hectares of olive groves, to diversify any market risk and to potentially provide higher returns to Growers over the long term. The main variety of table olives planted are predominately Kalamata and Jumbo Kalamata, traditionally the most popular of all the table varieties. There are many varieties of oil fruit planted across the groves which will allow the blending process to produce robust, medium and mild Extra Virgin Olive Oil to suit most palettes.

The MIS’s are scheduled to reach term at two separate periods of time; the 2000 to 2006 Growers MIS will cease in the year 2020 and the 2007 and 2008 Growers will cease in the year 2027. The Growers will be given the opportunity at the cessation of their MIS term to vote to either sell the asset or continue to run the business of producing olives. The entire grove has the potential to deliver good income streams and capital growth opportunities for all Growers, over the term of the MIS and well into the future.

Welcome to Inglewood. A diverse  shire of sustainable industries.  2009 - Trees from the Brooklyn Park Olive Grove.

Beautiful Bonni Foi. The trees on the this property are the youngest trees we have.  Our staff member demonstrating the size of our frost fans. These frost fans minimise any damage to the trees caused by frost.  We have 27 frost fans in total across 4 seperate properties.

These are some of our oldest trees on Brooklyn Park Olive Grove.  More trees from Brooklyn Park. Each tree is individually irrigated using a combination of sprinklers and drip irrigation.

Our groves are situated on a picturesque bend of the MacIntyre Brook, providing a 5km river frontage to the property. This position affords permanant access to the MacIntyre Brook Irrigation System sourced from the Coolmunda Dam, located at the head waters of the MacIntyre Brook.

Coolmunda Dam. A beautiful end to the day.
